The Frederick Apple Core meets the second Saturday of each month from 10 AM to Noon at the Walkersville United Methodist Church. Users of Apple products (Macintosh, iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc.) are invited to attend. Club business, new developments, as well as user problems and solutions will be discussed. In addition to our general meetings, we have special events, including a swap meet and picnic  held with the Cumberland Valley Apple Users Group, and an annual “freecycle” event.

The Walkersville United Methodist Church is located at 22 Main St. in Walkersville, MD. For directions, CLICK HERE.

Our meetings are open to the public and we welcome anyone interested in attending.

Our focus at the meeting will be how your cell phone number poses a clear and present danger to your identity being stolen! Apparently we are all too casual with giving out our cell phone number which is rapidly becoming your de facto national identification number without any protections built into the use of it.

Dorothea Mordan has offered to demonstrate the things she has learned in using her new MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar. Hopefully we can live video her keyboard and use our projector to generate a larger image so we will not need to crowd around her as she shows us some of what the Touch Bar can do.

Also, we have some business to conduct:

a.) Status of our search for officers;

b.) Treasurer’s Report;

c.) Contribution to Walkersville United Methodist Church for use of their premises for our meetings; and,

d.) An opportunity to pay your dues for the new fiscal year; Checks can be written to Frederick Apple Core. Cash is welcome too.

There is always a Q&A section to the meeting where you can bring your questions.
